Bella Ice Wins Golds

Bella Ice, a sweet, red dessert wine with intense Concord grape flavor, took a gold medal at the 2009 American Wine Society Commercial Wine Competition, held in Pittsburgh, PA. Additionally, it won a Double Gold at the 2009 Taster's Guild 14th Annual Consumers' Wine Judging in Washington, D.C. August 20-22, 2009. The competition is a unique wine judging where wine consumers evaluate the entered wines.

Welcome to Merritt Estate Winery

"A Day Without Wine is Like a Day Without Sunshine"

Merritt Estate Winery was the first farm winery organized in Chautauqua County under regulations signed by Governor Carey in 1976. The original homestead has been in the family since the late 1800's owned by the parents of Marguerite Merritt Sample. The award winning Merritt Estate wines are produced under the careful direction of William and Jason Merritt. Local grapes are harvested, crushed and fermented under the highest standards, to produce fine wines that we are proud to serve in our own homes.
